"Ride The Wild Surf", 1964, Starring Tab Hunter, Fabian. The great prototype of the HawaiiWood "Surf's Up" themed movie, aimed at the "teen market". Lot's of on-location shooting on the North Shore at Waimea Bay and nearby surf spots make this film enjoyable just for the nostalgia of seeing how spots looked in the early 60's and the types of boards and moves surfers were making. Cinematography by Joseph Biroc makes the film flow nicely. A spin-off album helped further promote the movie and establish the Surf Music sound to a wider audience- helping to pave the way for groups like the Beachboys and hit tunes by the Ventures.
